Game Your Facial Yoga: Nintendo's Face Lifter

I didn't even realize that facial yoga was a "thing" (OK. Whatever. It is.) But let's not soil ourselves commenting herewith when we can leapfrog straight to its bizarre and beautiful recombinant offspring: the Japanese video game yoga instructor.

Silly? Sure. But I kinda wanna check one out myself. Just soak up some of this instruction video.

Check out the multiple screens featuring your video "residual self-image" mug on one screen, and the virtual instructor on the other. Pretty wild stuff.

Reminds of those kooky photos of Satchidananda doing "eye excercise" in INTEGRAL YOGA.

Music Mystic: Neil Young Works For The Muse

01:37 PM

REMARKS (0)

Today's New York Times features a Neil Young profile highlighting his forthcoming Chrome Dream II tour. And I'm floored by the way he sounds like a mystic. His recent work explores a 'spiritual quest', he explains in the article,...

Six Billion Human Beings, Consider As One Entity

REMARKS (2)

Anyway, after a few billions of years, our sun will also disappear, so that's the end of the whole world. Isn't it? (Laughs). From that perspective, it's not much use to fight: my interest, your interest; my place, your place;...

Multivalent Lord Ganesha In Buddhist And Tantric Art

12:06 PM

REMARKS (0)

Some cultural critics might argue that remix and appropriation are newly emergent epi-phenomena of the digital world, where copies easily replicate and proliferate freely. But this flow is far from new, and this very drift could be seen as an...

MIA In Her Multi-Armed Disco Dancer Goddess Form

01:52 PM

REMARKS (0)

M.I.A.'s new video from her new rekkid, Kala. That multi-armed goddess effect may not be new, but it's super dope —especially with her trotting around in a blippy retro space invaders disco stage. It's a remake of a song from...

So Long, Sri Chinmoy

Sri Chinmoy entered Mahasamadhi last week at age 76. The Jamaica, Queens based spiritual leader was a prolific writer, musician, artist, and advocate for peace, love, and surrender. Before vegetarianism was as popular as it is today, odds were...

Eid-al-Fitr: Muslim Green Grows The Empire (State Building)

05:13 PM

REMARKS (0)

4. GREEN SHADE...in Islam, green is a heraldic color because "water, greenery & a beautiful face" (as the Prophet said) are ontologically privileged in experience -- and are in fact the basis of the esoteric rejection of sameness & separation...

Terry Richardson: Advertising Is Witchcraft

11:21 AM

REMARKS (0)

The question of whether or not witchcraft is sexy, or fashionable, or alluring, is not at issue. (There's probably not even a question, really.) But the brilliance behind Terry Richardson's editorial shoot in French Vogue (September, #880) is that...

Inspiration

First and foremost our gratitude goes out to Astanga Yoga New York & Sri Ganesha Temple, without which the Sri Ganesha Tea & Book Stall would never have incarnated. Secondly our deepest respect and praise goes to Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute. We are also indebted and inspired by the efforts of Namarupa Magazine.
