Robert Anton Wilson Rest In Peace

Robert Anton Wilson caricature by Anthony Hare.

The blogosphere exploded yesterday with revelatory discord as the news begain to spread: Robert Anton Wilson has departed. Rest yee in the great Lord Yama's grace.

He was an absolutely instrumental figure in my formative years. His books bent my mind and helped me to shape my own life.

He introduced me to Timothy Leary's Eight Circuit Model of Consciousness; to the works of Aleister Crowley; to the sweet Devi Eris and her sacred text; to Alfred Korzybski's general semantics; & to the implications/applications of quantum mechanics upon everyday life.

Three useful tools that I have culled from his cannon:

Most of these ideas were not his own. He was a great collator and remixer of thoughts and language and concepts; he often presented them in testable, exciting ways that helped to make the world a bit more fun. His work, alongside a healthy, harrowing path of pyschoactive drugs and mind-will excersizes, changed my life forever.

I salute you RAW.

Aum Nama Shivaya.

My favorite books by RAW:
